YARD Youth Theatre and Young Actors Company is led by the young people involved and is free to 11 to 25 year olds. YARD Theatre meets every Tuesday and Wednesday at New Art Exchange and takes part a variety of performance projects and workshops.
YARD Theatre gives young people the opportunity to develop performing arts talents whilst working with theatre professionals. Young people learn and develop acting skills, sing, dance and create innovative and groundbreaking theatre productions. There is also the opportunity to explore new technologies, use video, develop script writing and spoken word and get involved in set, lighting and sound design.
YARD Theatre builds self-esteem, self-confidence and positive self-expression. The company is made up of young people from diverse cultural and social backgrounds and aims to promote social inclusion.
YARD Young Actors Company (15yrs- 25yrs) every Tuesday 5 – 7pm
YARD Youth Theatre (11yrs-14yrs) every Wednesday 5-7pm
